Pet Sitting - it's what your pet would choose

Pet sitting is the worry-free solution to holiday pet care.  Pets stay at home while one of our pet sitters makes regular visits to look after their every need, eliminating many of the stresses that pets experience at catteries, kennels or other people's houses.

Cats Hate Catteries

Cats hate catteries because they:

 ♦ are territorial

 ♦ like to socialise

 ♦ enjoy their freedom

 ♦ love company and affection

♦ like to relax in favourite places

 ♦ like eating familiar food

♦ feel unsafe in strange surroundings

Long-term containment is detrimental to your pet’s mental welfare and often their health and fitness too.  Cats that have been locked up at a cattery are likely to be traumatised by the experience to some degree or other.

♦  Few cats enjoy travelling in a car

♦  Some refuse food and drink, leading to dehydration and death

♦  Some gain weight through inactivity

♦  Proximity of other cats invites infections and infestations

♦  Most are hissy and sulky when they return

If you use a cattery, you will no doubt be happy to see your cat afterwards, but your cat may not feel the same way after their ‘holiday’.

Dogs Dislike Kennels

Dogs often dislike kennels because although they’re used to leaving their homes behind, being confined in small spaces and in close proximity to other dogs can cause them needless stress.

Dogs:

  • like exercise routine
  • enjoy regular feeding
  • love to socialise
  • enjoy their freedom
  • like to sleep after a good walk
  • like eating familiar food
  • don't like constant noise

Kennels cannot replicate your dog's usual routine.

  • Many gain weight through boredom and inactivity
  • Some are agitated, bark constantly and lose their bark
  • The proximity of other dogs invites infections and infestations

Many dog owners use pet sitters because they are fed up of the post-kennel vets bills and suffering their dogs endure following a stay.

Hutches Aren't Easy To Transport

Rabbits and other pets that are used to living in a cage or a hutch are not usually too bothered if their housing is transported elsewhere, but it is often not very convenient for you when you are rushing about trying to get packed for your holiday.

The same goes for hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rats, chinchillas, ferrets, mice, tortoises, reptiles, fish, birds and spiders. Their needs are all different but most pets enjoy interaction and all need regular cleaning, feeding and exercise.
